Art vs Craft

November 22nd, 2005 3:08 pm by Miss Heather in Big News

WOW!!!
What a weekend we had at Art vs Craft in Milwaukee! Faythe and Kim out-did themselves again & I can’t thank them enough!
Naomi & I got there on Friday & set up real quick. Our booth was rockin’ with sales all Friday night & I didn’t think it could top it, but Saturday was even better, Saturday was however much more sober.
The whole weekend was a blur, but met so many fun people & wonderful artists. I noticed an owl theme in alot of artists work & there was a booth across from us selling very scary monkeys with teeth. Speaking of Monkeys, there was a giant sock monkey walking around that you could get your picture taken with. I opted out because I have a fear of costumed adults.

I didn’t take many pictures because the lighting in Turner Hall was not agreeing with my camera. I have 1 picture of Naomi & I that Kurt took but I don’t think it will see the light of day because it looks like I’m holding Naomi hostage behind our table.

When we loaded out on Sat. at 4 to drive back to Madison, I was asleep even before we hit the interstate. I slept until 11 Sunday morning, took a nap from 1 to 3 & went to bed at 11. I normally open on Monday, even though we are supposed to be closed, but I couldn’t even stomach the thought of coming into Glitter & having to clean & enter our sales.
So, Monday I just ended up watching like 12 hours of Law & Order Criminal Intent (I have a serious whatever for Vincent D’Onfrio’s character) that I had tivo’d last week & I embroidered a potholder.

Today, both Naomi & I were in the shop so we cleaned & got all of our sales entered. We are still both numb from all the work last weekend though, and now we have the Mad Craft-Mas this weekend at the High Noon Saloon, so I’m off to make more krap to sell.
XOXO

Make with the pic! We need more new stuff for the gallery.

i know the girl in that monkey suit! she is also going to be on HGTV making that suit in a child’s size. So, be sure to watch for that. But be ready to cover your eyes, Miss Heather, her intro is her in the suit!

HA!! I have a pic of me with the monkey!! I know you’re all secretly jealous..tee hee.

There isn’t a chance of that pic seeing the light of day, EVER. Miss Heather got Miss Sacia a tad tipsy (she really had to twist my arm awfully hard..owie..still hurts).

So, if my Klassy, Klassy, OH so Klassy photo, was ever stolen from my lock box, you would see: Miss Sacia, snuggled up next to a GIANT sock puppet monkey (ok, clinging to it for dear life, as not to fall over), wearing a drunkin’ s**T eating grin, and donning a head full of naturally blonde hair (stop laughing) in a completely disheveld state. The monkey was working it, though.

I’d would like to send many thanks to Faythe & Kim. I had a fabulous time, I couldn’t believe the sales! I was cleared out of almost all of my Art Glass Pendants the first night, alone! The crowd turnout was incredible! And the show was run so amazingly smoothly. For me, just the thought of trying to organize that many artists, well, the mind, it boggles.
