Time for Tea

Well, it’s most likely going to be coffee and fruit salad, but I’m so excited that Emily and Natalie are coming over this morning! As much as I adore working from home, especially during weeks that are supposed to get to 70 degrees, I do get lonely too.

Now that the rain has stopped (for a couple days at least) all I want to do is get outside, but there are orders to fill and shows to prepare for. My friend Sachi from Anthology is coming over tomorrow to pick out more goodies for her shop as well. I’m glad to see my lovely Madison customers are still supporting my wares! I did get out for awhile yesterday with the girls. We even blew bubbles and I watched them swing and run around like little girls are supposed to do. Some days I tell them they should ‘go play for awhile’ and they look at me like I just grew a second head. I need them to still be my little girls for a bit longer.

I also just finished a special order.

These kitty hats were a special order that a woman is getting for her friends sick little girl. She has a brain tumor and although she has been given many hats, the woman told me she only likes to wear the two kitty hats she picked up last winter at the shop for her. I rushed out and found the softest, lightest weight yarn I could use for them so that she can wear them into spring.

Things like this really put my backache and messy house and every other little worry I bother myself with into perspective.

I am going to go cut some fresh fruit and lay out muffins for my friends, in my kitchen filled with rainbows, in my safe, warm, abundant home. Then I will work on more art until I pick up my beautiful, healthy daughters from school and sit in the brilliant sunshine with them while I grow our little son safely inside me.

I wish you all a little sun and rainbows (and a warm coffee or tea) on this perfect day.
