Evil
December 29th, 2005 11:38 am by Miss Heather in Day to Day at GlitterIf you don’t like the price on an item and then proceed to tell me you can get it cheaper on e-bay then why don’t you just purchase it there & let me get on with my day.
That’s all I’m gonna say about that.

Haha. Yeah - haven’t heard that one before. Not just ebay but, you know, Wal-Mart, K-Mart yadda yadda. *roll eyes*

Ha! Funny because I had a family member (by marriage, humph) send me a link to an ebay auction asking for my expertise. Slap in the face because I sell the same exact product and she coulda got it from and support MY business! But no, she says - “Can you tell me if this is legit?” I replied, “Um, if you’re that concerned, go and spend $1,000 for the real thing.” *folds arms* That’s Evil.

Yeah, that does get annoying… Ebay in general can be a pain for artists. People sell things at horribly low prices and it makes it hard for the rest of the art community to get the right amount for what their art is really worth. Try to sell a handmade item for $20? Someone else will sell it for $5. And most people will buy the $5 item regardless of the quality…
The art of art is hard to explain to some people. They don’t understand that “handmade” means more effort, and more feeling/history than mass produced stuff. “Handcrafted” is just cooler when you think about it. :P
