My Special Week
May 12th, 2008 5:12 pm by Naomi in Day to Day at GlitterThis is a busy busy week in our household.
It started yesterday with an absolutely perfect Mother’s Day. I received wonderful handmade presents from everyone! Here are the girls’ presents
Here’s a closeup of the gift bag Zoe’s candle holder came in
It’s a little hard to see the detail, but there is a garden gnome being sneaky with the hose, a little hedgie, an owl and a squirrel! Does this kid know me or what??
Here is my handmade gift from Jerome.
It is still a work in progress, but he is building raised beds for me! Not only will this help contain our extremely out of control yard and garden, but it is getting ever increasingly hard for me to bend and this way I can still play in the dirt this summer and grow some fruits and veggies!! We’re even going to have a strawberry patch!
My mom had gotten us a gift card to her friend’s greenhouse too so we stopped down yesterday and picked up this little lovely.
It’s a miniature lilac. It can still get 5′ high, but no where near the size of most traditional lilacs. The car smelled so yummy driving back up from the greenhouse yesterday.
I even got to eat at my favorite place on earth for breakfast yesterday, The Original Pancake House. We met my sister and her family there and had all kinds of yum including crepes with fresh strawberries and real whipped cream and thick sliced bacon.
The festivities continue tomorrow with our wedding anniversary. We aren’t doing anything special really, but I can honestly say that every day is quite wonderful since I have had Jerome in my life.
The crazy week wraps up with my birthday on Friday. I’m excited because I am getting a rain barrel! No, I actually did ask for, it’s not like when you get a blender! It will also be pretty low key with probably a cake on Thursday to share with the girls and perhaps even a mellow night at home.
On a different note, I did finally whittle away at my Craftacular applications last week and sent out notifications. It was sooo hard because there really is such a limited amount of space at the High Noon.
Here are the postcards I got printed.
Natalie (Ms. Orangy Porangy) did a fantabulous job on the design as always!!!
I did officially set a date today for the Christmas Craftacular too. I know it sounds crazy, but I really needed to set it up this far in advance to reserve the venue. The show will be held Saturday, December 6th at the Masonic Center here in town. It is going to be in the main ballroom which is absolutely gorgeous and will hold many, many more vendors. This is the same day as the Renegade Holiday Show in Chicago, and after much hemming and hawing… Jerome and I decided to go ahead and keep it this date. I will not be doing much out of town travelling with a new wee one, and really, shopping wise, we are not in competition with a show in Chicago. Our shoppers are quite loyal as are many of the vendors and I am also thrilled that I will be able to have so many more vendors who have not had a chance to be in past shows! It will be a conflict for some people, but I’m still confident that it will be a great time for vendors and shoppers. I will be getting out more info in the months to come, but if you are interested in being added to my email notification list, shoot me a message and I will get you on!
Time to scrounge up dinner! No pampering tonight…
