Chipping Away

May 30th, 2008 5:30 pm by Naomi in Day to Day at Glitter

Yesterday I started with this

and by today I have this

I still have a pretty large amount of fabric left, but at least 25 headbands is a start!

It has been a busy week trying to squeeze in as much work as I can before the girls get out of school and gearing up for the Craftacular, which is less than a month away!!

Speaking of the Craftacular, I have been trying to hang posters and hand out postcards as much as possible. Today I stopped at a few fun places on Atwood Ave. including Happy Bambino
and Absolutely Art.

The women at Absolutely Art were so kind. They told me how many of their customers still comment on how much they miss the brick and mortar Glitter Workshop but how they totally understood my decision. They also told me that I was an inspiration to them and so many other local artists. I seriously thought I was going to cry! Yep, a bit emotional.

I did pick up a few things at both shops.

I love the wooden rattle and I know Henri will too. I am also going through belly butter by the gallon and I loved that this was organic and had lavender in it, which I love! I really had to restrain myself from grabbing every single thing in Happy Bambino. Yikes…

I spent a whole day this week working on clearing out the ‘nursery’. Of course I hurt my back in the process, but it looks a hell of a lot better! Zoe came home from school and exclaimed ‘Mom!! Look!! There is actually a FLOOR in that room!’. Smarty pants… can’t figure out where she gets the sarcasm from…

We do have one more birthday too!

Jerome turns 30 on Sunday! I really robbed the craddle with that one!! We got a Dairy Queen ice cream cake, which is heaven and are just keeping it pretty low key this weekend. I think he is going to buy a lawnmower for his present. I asked him if a lawnmower for a guy is like buying a kitchen appliance for a woman and he said absolutely not! I would have picked one out myself but figured I may have a difficult time getting it home.

I’m glad it’s Friday!!! I need some sleep…

Naomi your little family is just the cutest!

I really love that wooden rattle! I tried looking for it in their online shop but no such luck. Maybe I’ll call and see about it. It’s absolutely beautiful!

I am with you on the belly butter, I am constantly oiling myself up or slathering on some cocoa butter. lol I really like the lavender body oil at Trader Joe’s…smells so good.

Hope you are feeling good! :) We have been piecing together the nursery too. Stephen is gonna try to finish up the dresser and crib this weekend. Hope you have a good one!

    Love the headbands too!
