A Little Work and a Little Play

First, we’ll start with the work.

Here are a few new goodies I have finished up.

I love making amigurumi, but I can only do a bit at a time due to the carpal tunnel, which is in full swing right now!

I am also working on another large order for Les Fleurs in Paris, France. I told Jerome we should have offered to deliver it. Maybe someday…

I also have a little vintage find to share.

I love the sparkly rhinestones!

For the play? Well, we decided (very last minute) last Friday not to head to the cottage since they were calling for a 50% chance of showers, so Jerome called a few resorts in the Dells to see what kind of specials they were having. For anyone not familiar with our current weather conditions, a good portion of our area is flooded, with major highways out, evacuated homes, breeched dams and all. SO he said that he found a good rate at the Wilderness, which we had been looking at anyway. It turned out to be a lot of fun, once we got there.

I say once we got there, because normally Wisconsin Dells is about 45 minutes away. Well, on this particular Friday, it took us almost three hours. Three hours of dead stop traffic, whining children, uncomfortable mama, and even Jerome got frazzled for a brief second when he realized I didn’t have a map in the van. Mr. back roads did get us home Saturday night though on all county highways using his new map that we stopped for and it only took about two hours. The girls and I were sleeping a good portion of the way home, so it was probably the most peaceful part of his weekend!

Here was the view from our balcony.

There are three indoor and three outdoor waterparks there (and Starbucks, thank god…) so we did an indoor park that night and the next day hit one of the outdoor parks in perfect weather. I even held up pretty good, except for when some little stinker ran smack dab into my stomach. I understand that it is a bit LARGE, but come on… Little Man did not like having some random child run into his temporary home.

Anway, today is what I am considering the first day of summer break since it is the first day the girls will be back home and we will try to figure out our summer routine. It will be easier after the Craftacular next weekend is done since right now I am a bit franctic making goodies. Well, wish us blue skies so they can play outside! I loaded up on their favorite foods and even though our big pool isn’t quite finished yet, they can use the little pool, water balloon fight, play badmitton… of course, they will just be bored, but I can always dream!

Last week winners for the Charming Prize are Janet and Michelle.! Your goodies will be off soon ladies.

This weeks contest will be coming up probably tomorrow or Thursday, so check back!
