Hanging in There

I just had to have that owl print from Janet’s Etsy shop….

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Besides the fairly long drive to the cottage, it was really nice. I was pretty much out of commission all weekend and Jerome treated me like a little princess! I flopped myself on the pier and watched him and the girls in the water and finished reading The Subtle Knife and started The Amber Spyglass. I love teen books….

The fourth was fun too. We ran into ‘town’ and picked up stuff for a bbq and a few little fountains but from the cottage we could see fireworks across the bay in Door County (about five different spots!) as well as Green Bay and some people down the bay must have spent about $2,000 on fireworks (literally) and were shooting off HUGE fireworks for over an hour so Jerome and I sat out by the fire and watched those. Of course by then the girls had lost their firework patience and were playing with their friend that came with.

Sachi from Anthology stopped by this weekend too and grabbed a bunch of stuff so that was nice to get them restocked! I am so excited about the great response that their shop and my goodies are getting.

Now for the griping. This morning I was diagnosed with symphysis pubis dysfunction. For anyone not familiar with this lovely condition, basically my pelvic (pubic) bones are separating too much, too quickly. Normally in pregnancy the ligaments soften and move to allow bambino more room, but with this condition they decide to scoot too far apart. I have been having pain for awhile, but Mr. Bigwig Doctor kept just telling me it was ‘normal’. Well, having have two full term babies already, I knew this wasn’t ‘normal’. I couldn’t get off a lounge chair by myself and moving at night is excruciating. Basically, the only thing that really helps is delivering the baby, although I did get to drive across town today to get a prescription for some lovely pills that will help me sleep. Of course their miracle pills usually do not help me sleep, just make me feel like a drugged zombie as I bumble around. Oh well. Baby is fine, and that’s what counts! It is just really really uncomfortable. Thank god I have a great husband and even the girls have been helping more. I think they are getting excited too.

This weekend is our shower and I even have the room cleared out so my in-laws are going to come over and paint tomorrow. Of course we still need furniture, but I am pretty limited to the running around I can do, so we’ll play it by ear. We have a cradle so he will go in that at first anyway.

Time to finish making dinner and beg the girls to turn down ‘Hannah Montana’. Honestly, as far as kid music goes, I actually can kind of tolerate Miley Cyrus. Kind of. Of all the crap they blast on YouTube I guess I should consider Hannah Montana ok…..

OH and the hedgie tote winner is Ms. Jessica! Thanks for all the fun comments!! Keep em coming. Every one makes me smile. It’s nice to know that people read this. Especially when you are cooped up without a ton of human contact!

The girls are going camping for a few days so I will be getting more stuff listed too. A lovely customer from Japan bought a ton of my Etsy stuff so it’s time to get restocked!!
