Proud Papa
August 10th, 2008 11:01 am by Naomi in Day to Day at GlitterHenri, Darby, Zoe and I are so lucky to have a great man in our lives! Jerome has jumped into fatherhood with so much love and confidence. He has certainly had practice the past few years with Darby and Zoe, but it is different when it is a newborn, and when it is your own.
It’s so funny watching him and Henri do things together sometimes. Well, Henri doesn’t DO too much, except he does love to roll into a ball when you try to get him into his car seat. Part hedgehog, perhaps?
The pediatrician visit went pretty good, but he has lost a bit more weight than they would like to see so he has to go in for ‘weigh ins’. It’s like he is in training or something! You can tell in the carseat pic how tiny he is though. We had to go buy some more outfits for him too. I was telling everyone not to buy newborn sizes, so we ended up with a closet full of outfits that are too big! He is just over 6 lbs. right now. Here is one of his new looks…
We also received a totally fun package in the mail yesterday from Sachi.
It is an adorable owl security blanket and came wrapped in the most wonderful paper. I saved a snippet of the paper so I can try to figure out something to do with it. Or maybe just put it in Henri’s box…
Well, the girls are supposed to be home tomorrow. I spoke with them on Tuesday to let them know about their brother’s arrival, but haven’t talked with them since. I miss them SOOOOOO much. They have been gone before for weekend trips etc., but never this long. I am probably just a TAD emotional right now too, but I can’t stop thinking about how much I want them back home. Everyone keeps telling me to just rest and enjoy these first days with just Henri, which of course I am, but I feel like our home is just so empty without those two little banshees running wild. They are going to adore their brother though. How could you not??
