Too Early?

I know, I know. I am the first person complaining when I walk in a store and see Christmas up already. BUT, being a crafter, I certainly can’t wait until the day after Thanksgiving to start crafting for the holidays!

My mom tells me that when she was a little girl, it was absolutely magical to see the stores the morning after Thanksgiving with their magical holiday transformation. I do feel that we have lost a bit of that. By then, you are already sick of looking at Christmas. Of course, this is one more reason to shop at craft shows and local shops, RIGHT??

So, that being said, here are a few holiday goods I am working on. Necklaces and ornaments! These were from scraps left over after making Christmas coasters (pictures to come soon…)

I have a few images with the deer in the snow and at least one will have to go to my sister. She adores deer anything (well, I mean… deer decor… not like venison or anything… EWWWWWW) and especially deer in snow.

Today is my mother in law’s b-day so we are heading over there in a bit to have Chinese food and let them pass the baby around.

Oh, he made her a card…

hehe…. Suppose I need to go get out of my pjs!

Personally I agree with you about the Christmassy schtuff… but I did a couple of shows and sold a ton of ornaments so I thought who am I to argue with the customer? Can’t believe I’m selling Christmas schtuff in October…….

Hey, it’s not like Santas Elves start making toys in Dec., handmade = time. Yes, it’s that time for all of us Artists (crafters) to be busy (as elves?)As of this weekend, our “season” is over till May,the tourists have gone home, the locals are being encouraged to “buy local” this Christmas. Can I compete with sales at Kohls in Santa Fe? Do I even try?No, I am counting on friends and neighbors to give locally made handcrafted, QUALITY items that support their local businesses. On to the Holidays!!

Right on, Mom! I shall glue away….
